Questions about career coaching
What people ask about job transitions, burnout, resume support, coaching timelines, pricing, and getting started.
What is career coaching?
Career coaching is short-term, solution-focused support for your professional life. It covers the practical work of a job search, including resume building, interview practice, networking strategy, and search planning, alongside the bigger questions of what you actually want from your career. At Being Wellness, career coaching is led by licensed counselors in Dallas, which means burnout, confidence, and work stress can be part of the conversation, not just your resume.
Is career coaching right for me?
Career coaching is a fit if you want to find a new job, change fields, or leave a role that is draining you. It also helps recent graduates starting out, professionals returning to the workforce, and anyone who is employed but feeling flat and unsure what the next step should be. Because the work is structured and goal-oriented, most clients come in for a defined season rather than open-ended sessions. If career stress is tangled up with anxiety or depression, we may recommend pairing coaching with counseling.
What are the benefits of career coaching?
Career coaching helps you get clearer about what is not working in your professional life and what needs to change next. At Being Wellness Therapy, career coaching can support job searches, career pivots, resume and interview preparation, burnout, workplace stress, confidence, and work-life balance. The goal is not just to make your next move, but to make one that better fits your values, strengths, and life outside of work. If work has started affecting your mood, identity, or daily life, our career and work-life balance specialty page explains how we support that bigger picture.
How much does it cost?
Counseling is billed per 50-minute session and ranges from $135 to $175 depending on the counselor you work with. Sliding scale spots are available based on income, though they're limited. Life and career coaching are billed as monthly packages, from $175 to $400 depending on how many sessions you want. You can see every rate on our pricing page, and your free consultation is a good time to ask about cost.
What does career coaching include?
Career coaching covers the practical side of work and the bigger picture behind it. That includes resume building, interview practice, networking strategy, and a clear job-search plan, alongside questions like what you actually want from your career and how to manage burnout, confidence, and work stress along the way. Because it's led by licensed counselors, the emotional weight of career change is part of the conversation, not just the logistics.
How long does career coaching typically take?
Career coaching is structured and goal-oriented, so most people come in for a defined season rather than open-ended sessions. How long that takes depends on what you're navigating, whether it's a job search, a career pivot, or a return to work. You'll set a focus together at the start, and you're always free to continue, pause, or wrap up as your goals are met.
Can I do this virtually, or do I have to come in?
Both options are available. You can meet in person at our office on Knox Street in Dallas or by secure video from anywhere in Texas. Many clients mix the two, coming in some weeks and meeting virtually when travel, weather, or a busy schedule makes it easier. Your counselor can help you decide what works best.
How do I get started?
The first step is a free 15-minute consultation. It's a no-pressure call to talk through what's going on, answer your questions, and make sure you're matched with the right counselor. You can request one through our booking page or by reaching out directly, and we'll help you find a time that works.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What you share in session is confidential and protected by law. There are a few narrow exceptions every therapist is required to follow, such as a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult. Your counselor will walk you through these limits at your first session so you know exactly how confidentiality works.
Not sure where to start?
That's exactly what the 15 minutes are for. No pressure, no paperwork. Just a conversation.
