Questions about life coaching

What people ask about coaching packages, counseling versus coaching, virtual support, and how to know if it fits.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is short, action-oriented support for the everyday stressors of life: work pressure, dating, friendships, family conflict, and decisions you keep putting off. At Being Wellness, coaching is provided by licensed professional counselors, not unlicensed coaches. Monthly packages combine 30-minute video sessions, a real-time phone call, and weekday instant messaging, so you can work through problems the day they come up instead of waiting for next week's appointment.

Is life coaching right for me?

Coaching is a fit if you are functioning well overall but want focused, goal-driven help with present and future concerns. It moves faster than traditional therapy and is built for busy schedules, with sessions you can book week of or even day of. If you are working through deeper or longer-term mental health concerns, or want to process past trauma, individual counseling is the better starting point. A brief assessment and consultation before you begin confirms the right fit.

What are the benefits of life coaching?

Life coaching helps you move from feeling stuck to having clearer direction, practical next steps, and more support in real time. At Being Wellness Therapy, life coaching is future-focused and action-oriented, built for everyday stressors like work pressure, dating, friendships, family conflict, decision fatigue, and goals you keep circling but not starting. It can be especially useful when you are navigating life transitions, relationship decisions, or career stress. Because our coaching is provided by licensed counselors, you get grounded support from someone trained to understand both behavior and emotional patterns.

How much does it cost?

Counseling is billed per 50-minute session and ranges from $135 to $175 depending on the counselor you work with. Sliding scale spots are available based on income, though they're limited. Life and career coaching are billed as monthly packages, from $175 to $400 depending on how many sessions you want. You can see every rate on our pricing page, and your free consultation is a good time to ask about cost.

How is coaching different from counseling?

Counseling is licensed mental health treatment for concerns like anxiety, depression, and trauma, and it often explores how the past shapes the present. Coaching is faster and forward-looking, built around present and future goals like career, relationships, and everyday decisions. Coaching can usually be booked the same week, while counseling tends to follow a more consistent rhythm. Both are provided by our licensed counselors, and a short consultation helps confirm the right fit.

What's included in a coaching package?

Coaching is a monthly package rather than pay-per-session. Every tier includes 30-minute video sessions, a real-time phone call, and weekday instant messaging so you can work through things the day they come up. Packages range from $175 to $400 a month depending on how many video sessions you want, from one to four. Unused video sessions roll over one month; phone calls don't. You'll find the full breakdown on our pricing page.

Can I do this virtually, or do I have to come in?

Both options are available. You can meet in person at our office on Knox Street in Dallas or by secure video from anywhere in Texas. Many clients mix the two, coming in some weeks and meeting virtually when travel, weather, or a busy schedule makes it easier. Your counselor can help you decide what works best.

How do I get started?

The first step is a free 15-minute consultation. It's a no-pressure call to talk through what's going on, answer your questions, and make sure you're matched with the right counselor. You can request one through our booking page or by reaching out directly, and we'll help you find a time that works.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. What you share in session is confidential and protected by law. There are a few narrow exceptions every therapist is required to follow, such as a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult. Your counselor will walk you through these limits at your first session so you know exactly how confidentiality works.

Not sure where to start?

That's exactly what the 15 minutes are for. No pressure, no paperwork. Just a conversation.
